New Linux phones to be announced on Monday?

Software’s becoming the big battleground for mobile phones, especially when you’re talking smartphones. There’s Android, there’s Windows Mobile, there’s Symbian, there’ll soon be WebOS… and there’s one I haven’t talked about much, but that could easily be as important as the other big names in the OS world…

According to Reuters, we should be seeing some brand new Linux-powered phones from the LiMo Foundation on Monday. And not just from the phone manufacturers you never hear about, like NEC and Panasonic, but from two of the big five manufacturers. Yup, LG and Samsung are all set, if the story is correct, to unveil their own LiMo-powered phones to the world.
